Yes, this is an obvious riff on Bill Nye the science guy but it's a family tradition - just ask Chris!
Lynn's blog will be focused more on the nuts and bolts - literally - of designing, welding, building and creating this earth/animal respectful farm. Check in to follow his progress.
Around here we continue to figure out our roles as we both have complementary and conflicting skills, but the closest thing we've come up with that captures our roles at the farm .... Melody = Ideas / Inspiration ..... Lynn = Engineering / Mechanical. While I grew up around farms, I truly only had a 'taste' of the life and Melody, while a 'city gal', has such an natural acclamation with our animals / vegetation / land, which is the foundation of Melo Farms. .
So we carved out this spot for me to share. Nearly everything we're doing here is something I've had some exposure to, but now these projects are critical to the success of the farm. While, sure I'll make mistakes and we'll fix them and move on, but our pigs / chickens / etc. can't be without water / food / shelter. / protection and we only have so many hours in a day, so planning and doing it right the first time is sanity.
UPDATE ..... we are still experiencing some 'technical difficulties' in getting photos / videos loaded on the site, but we're making progress, so please excuse the layout and keep checking in as we continue to evolve the content.
